The AIVA Maturity Model
The AIVA Maturity Model shows the maturity level at which a company currently stands with respect to AI Visibility – and which development steps are necessary to build and advance visibility in AI systems in a structured way. It builds on the structured assessment provided by the AIVA Scorecard and AIVA Index.
AI Visibility Develops in Stages of Maturity
Many companies are already engaging with AI Visibility, AI search, ChatGPT, or AI Overviews — but few know how far their organization is actually developed in this area.
That is precisely where the AIVA Maturity Model comes in. It reveals the maturity level at which a company currently stands and which next steps are necessary to improve AI Visibility not only in isolated ways, but to build it in a structured manner.
The model helps clearly distinguish between initial individual measures, operational optimization, and strategically embedded AI Visibility. Building on the AIVA Framework, it shows how structured assessment translates into a stage of development — and which next maturity levels are within reach.
The AIVA Maturity Model makes the stage of development of your AI Visibility visible.
The Five Maturity Levels of the AIVA Maturity Model
The AIVA Maturity Model translates the structured assessment from the AIVA Scorecard and AIVA Index into clearly assignable maturity levels — from “Invisible” to “AI-Native.”
Invisible (0–20)
Level 1At this maturity level, a brand is barely or not at all visible in AI systems. Relevant content, signals, and structures are insufficient for the brand to appear systematically in answers.
Fragmented (21–40)
Level 2Initial signals are present, but they are disconnected. Visibility emerges in isolated instances, yet without a clear architecture, consistent topic authority, or overarching management.
Optimized (41–60)
Level 3Core foundations have been improved, relevant levers have been identified, and initial optimizations are taking effect. AI Visibility is being built more actively, but remains predominantly tactical or function-specific.
Strategic (61–80)
Level 4AI Visibility is planned, prioritized, and actively managed across departments. Decisions are no longer based on individual measures, but on a clear target vision and a reliable architecture.
AI-Native (81–100)
Level 5AI Visibility is firmly integrated into structures, processes, and strategic decisions. The organization can not only build visibility in AI systems, but continuously develop and lead it over time.
With the AIVA Architecture Sprint, we analyze the maturity level at which your organization currently stands, which structural deficits exist, and which development steps are critical for reaching the next levels.
This turns the AIVA Maturity Model into a concrete foundation for prioritization, decision-making, and the next stage of development of your AI Visibility.
